Winner of the Holberg Prize School Project

Heggen Upper Secondary School came in first place in the Holberg Prize School Project 2018. Elvebakken Upper Secondary School got second place and Eikeli Upper Secondary School got third place.

This years winners of the Holberg Prize School project are Elin Haugum, Emilie Jensen og Adele F. E. Grønningsæther from Heggen Upper Secondary School in Troms, with the research project: "Norwegian is 'Basically' Dying Out", investigating the influence of English on the Norwegian Language and youths attitudes towards language change.

August Bjærke Estensen, Lea Rose Martinuzzi and Håkon Rørvik Skåland from Elvebakken Upper Secondary School in Oslo is awarded the second place prize for their research project "The Government Quarter - Open and Inviting or Closed and Excluding?"

Herman Roll Ludvigsen from Eikeli Upper Secondary School in Akershus, is awarded the third place in the Holberg Prize School Project for his research project "Discrimination in the workplace" about discrimination of minorities in the Norwegian labour market. 

The Holberg Prize School Project

20 upper secondary schools and more than 800 students from all over Norway participate in the Holberg Prize School Project each year. The students are assisted by scholars and the projects are integrated into their regular curriculum. Three research projects are awarded prizes of NOK 30,000, NOK 20,000 and NOK 10,000, respectively.

The finalists are announced in mid May and the School Project Award Ceremony is held during the Holberg Week in early June each year.
