5 March will see the announcement of the 2020 Holberg Laureate and Nils Klim Lauerate. Celebrations in their honour will take place on 2 - 5 June in Bergen and Oslo.

Join us in celebration of the 2020 Holberg Laurate and the Nils Klim Laureate. The Holberg Week will take place on 2 - 5 June in Bergen and Oslo and feature both award ceremonies and a number of academic events.

All the academic events are non-ticketed and open to the public. They will also be livestreamed on the Holberg Prize website. More information to follow.
 

Tuesday, 2 June

The Nils Klim Seminar

Seminar with an introduction by the Nils Klim Laureate, followed by lectures by invited guests and a panel discussion.

Masterclass with the Holberg Laureate

The Holberg Prize will invite five PhD students from Nordic universities to participate in a Masterclass with the 2020 Holberg Laureate.

An Evening with the Holberg Prize

A conversation between the Holberg Laureate and the Nils Klim Laureate about their background, their research, and more.

Wednesday, 3 June

The Holberg Symposium:

Four scholars from different academic fields will be invited to speak at the 2020 Holberg Symposium, in honour of the Holberg Laureate. The topic will be chosen by Laureate.

The Holberg Lecture:

Lecture by the 2020 Holberg Laureate.

Thursday, 4 June

Award Ceremony: The Holberg Prize School Project

Announcement and Award Ceremony for the winners of the Holberg Prize School Project and the Teacher's Prize.

Time: 10:30 – 11:30
Venue: Bergen Katedralskole, Kong Oscars gate 36

Award Ceremony: The Holberg Prize and the Nils Klim Prize

The Holberg Prize  and the Nils Klim Prize will be conferred by the Norwegian Minister of Research and Higher Education, Henrik Asheim. 

The Ceremony is by invitation only. All guests must be seated no later than 13:45. 
The event will be livestreamed.
