American philosopher Martha C. Nussbaum is awarded the 2021 Holberg Prize for her groundbreaking contributions to research in law and philosophy. The Nils Klim Prize goes to the Russian-Finnish political scientist Daria Gritsenko.
The Holberg Board has decided who will be awarded the Holberg Prize and the Nils Klim Prize in 2021. They have also decided to establish a nomination pool for each of the Prizes.
The Holberg Prize is an international research prize in the humanities, social sciences, law and theology. The nomination form for the 2022 Holberg Prize is now open and the deadline is 15 June 2021.
The Holberg Committee met on Friday 16 October to discuss the nominations for the 2021 Holberg Prize and has now agreed on a shortlist. Due to the ongoing corona pandemic, this year's nomination meeting took place digitally.
The 2020 Holberg Prize is awarded to British-Canadian scholar Griselda Pollock for her contributions to feminist art history and cultural studies. The Nils Klim Prize is awarded to Danish theologian Frederik Poulsen for his research on The Old Testament.
